For the Open Source Møte project (a.k.a. the code behind meetbot.fedoraproject.org/), we want to add a OpenGraph repo card when people share the link on chat apps or social media.

reason

This is a unique way to personalize a GitHub project! It also is an opportunity to communicate what Møte does through a visual way. Once added, this image will appear any time someone pastes the GitHub link on a site that uses the OpenGraph standard.

recommendation

Meta details: GitHub recommends dimensions of 1280×640px. An OpenGraph template is attached to this ticket (see below).

Design ideas: Møte is an important tool for Fedora IRC meetings. It is how we collect all of our text-based meeting logs and make them available to the community when a meeting ends. So, something that might make you thing of "tying things together" or bringing lots of different meetings about different topics related to Fedora is a good start!

I decided to jump into this.
@jflory7 What do you think? The design shows several people connected, as well as icons to represent different topics (coding, bug hunting etc)

@viv, I like the design! I am worried it may be too busy depending on how big the design will be presented. Once Justin provides more info we can figure out the next step.

Hi all! So, the OpenGraph image will appear when the GitHub repo link is shared on social media and messaging apps. Instead of getting the generic GitHub banner for your repository, you can customize the image appearance when you share it on the Web.

I like the design concept. I think it is creative to connect different faces together in a web with the Fedora logo. However, I do not have the design/brand approval rights, so I will wait for @riecatnor or @duffy to give final feedback and approval before we make this official. :smile:

Hi @viv looks great! I have a bit of feedback for you :)

Make sure the Fedora logo is horizontal, it looks like it is at a slight angle.
Make the Fedora logo bigger, you may need to reduce the size of the badges with the heads
Can you try a version with the background gradient moving from bottom to top or vice versa? Just curious :)

This is what I came up with. The notification shows the mote meeting log with a reminder notifying the person of the meetings he has with different fedora departments.

Hey folks, thanks for all the interest! Please hold off from doing any work on this for the time being.

I made just a few small changes to the design to make it logo complaint. We need to get input from @duffy on the logo tho, and if we want to use the new one for this instance. If so, we may need a quick redesign based on that.
