#276 Fedora 19 Website Featured Spin Banner
Closed: Fixed None Opened 10 years ago by ryanlerch.

We need the banners for Fedora 19!

We need to decide what spin is our featured spin for the f19 cycle and design the banner for it.

for reference here is the ticket tracking the development of the f18 one:
https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/250

Perhaps we should advertise the Pidora Remix in this space for this release?

Shouldn't we advertise only official spins? We could think about the new spins included with F19, Jam (based on KDE) and MATE-Compiz.

If we go with 3d printing as the featured feature, it would probably be good to also have pidora as the featured spin / remix. If not just to target the "makers" and "tinkerers" with our marketing for this release.

possible changes to css:

{{{

.slides #spin {
background: -moz-linear-gradient(center top , #FFFFFF 1%, #FFFFFF 36%, #AAAAAA 100%) repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}

spin .content

{
color:#333;
}

spin .content a

{
color: #3B6EB4;
}

}}}

Text change:
Pidora is a Fedora Remix specifically designed for use with the Raspberry Pi. The combination of Pidora and the Raspberry Pi gives you the freedom to design and make your own projects with this credit-card sized computer.

I was trying to jazz it up with some features that distinguish it from other Pi distros, but it was getting long! How about...

Pidora offers all the Fedora packages you love in a Fedora Remix compiled specifically for the Raspberry Pi hardware. The graphical first boot includes additional Pi-specific modules. Or if you're going headless, you can do it from the start with some special Pidora features.

Too much?

Just enough!

here is a quick mock up of it in place (ignore the incorrect screenshot :/ ):

Sure, I'm updating it right now, L10n team was just working on it.

Thank you.
