#217 Mockup for Fedora Packager for Eclipse context menu
Closed: Fixed None Opened 12 years ago by jerboaa.

Fedora Packager for Eclipse is an Eclipse plug-in which can be thought of as a GUI for Fedora packaging. Commands are available via the context menu. With the number of features increasing it is becoming more and more difficult to come up with a proper design of the context menu. As of now, the total number of items so far is 12 with 3-6 more in the queue. We would appreciate help for coming up with a better design/structure. Perhaps a context menu isn't the right approach, feel free to go wild. We are open for new and innovative suggestions.

Here is a mock-up of existing functionality including the context menu:

Our user guide is here:

What are our current challenges?

  • Figure out a way to structure the context menu with 20+ items
  • Have a select set of commands directly accessible, others might be hidden behind an "advanced" element
  • Perhaps grouping of menu items could make sense 1. Koji. 2. General. 3. RPM related commands

Thanks for your help! Let me know if you have questions.

[#216] and [#213] are related. Lots of room for improvement :)
