#207 Nice high-resolution animations to be run on beamers or big screens
Closed: Fixed None Opened 12 years ago by robert.

I would like to have some nice high-resolution animations that I can run during events on beamers or big screens. At the moment, we are only running the Fedora 16 promotion video and some FUDCon videos. I imagine something like an animation of which elements the Fedora logo consists and how they put together. Another animation I could imagine are our foundations with each coming into the foreground, some animation and going to the background again or so. At least less text involved and if so, it should be in english for best re-usability.

It should be possible to run these animations in an endless loop and they should be high-resolution and runnable on slow devices like a netbook or similar. So please don't do a HD video. If there is some kind of resource-saving SVG animation or so, that would be awesome. To give an idea: Running the Fedora 16 promotion video on an atom-based notebook, it's completely consuming one CPU (also because of the Intel graphic chipset).

I'm also open to other nice animations :)

+1 :)
But I don't get the "Fedora 16 promotion video" what is it?

Whatever format is used, it would be also helpful to have it as screensaver for GNOME. I'm not really happy with leaving my notebook in dual-monitor setup (because I still want to work at the notebook without showing everything on the beamer) unlocked while leaving the booth. It's not that I wouldn't trust the other Fedora people, it just gives me personally a bad feeling. I don't know how good/worse the GNOME screensaver is, but alternatively it can be maybe xscreensaver compatible?

can you specify a bit more about the animation contents? should it be promotion video or is it only something like screensaver so there won´t be static screen during presentation?

Just something like a screensaver so there won't be static screen. E.g. moving around the Fedora logo and the foundations icons somehow.
