#11 Release Party Kit
Closed: Fixed None Opened 14 years ago by duffy.

I think it would be cool if we put together a release party kit for Fedora release parties.

Your mission, should you choose to accept this ticket:

1) Email the Fedora ambassadors list and ask them what types of materials would be useful for a release party kit.

2) You'll need to identify from talking to the ambassadors all the items they will need templates for for the release party kit. One design you'll definitely need:

  • Release party poster / flyer

You'll want to use the MgOpen Modata font, and you'll want a design that works good in B&W and can look good when it is Xerox copied since I bet a lot of folks will create the signs that way and hand them out or hang them up (eg on a bulletin board or at a college campus) They need to be readable from far away and grab folks' attention!

Some example release party flyers that have been created in the past:

Oh part of the original ticket is wrong, "You'll want to use the MgOpen? Modata font, " <= you want Comfortaa as the font now, we've phased out Modata : )

Added a quick attempt at a slide deck template.

Whoops. Posted this to the wrong ticket. Was supposed to go to https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/52

Ambassador here.

Hosted Fedora 17 release party today so I think I can speak well on this subject.

Here is what I would need (doesn't matter who it's coming from) for the Fedora 18 release party (if I were to host it):

1) Box of shirts in various sizes (qty TBD) (XL most popular) [[BR]]
2) USB thumb drives with fedora logo and install of latest release [[BR]]
3) Stickers [[BR]]
4) Pens [[BR]]
5) Banners [[BR]]
6) Flyer design by design team. [[BR]]
7) Other (food, drinks, etc.) [[BR]]
