Low priority -- just for the record. Continuing from #25... the account system has fields for locale, timezone, website url, chat nicknames, and github/gitlab accounts.

We could sync

• timezone to the corresponding field
• locale to region (maybe -- they don't seem to be a 1:1 mapping)
• the rest to new custom user fields in discourse

Timezone and locale should be subject to the "private" flag.
