#6 membership policy
Closed 3 years ago by dcavalca. Opened 3 years ago by dcavalca.

Wiki says "Membership changes will be discussed and voted during the check-in meetings.". Let's actually formalize this. My proposed criteria for membership is "there's actual work you'd like to do that fits within the SIG charter". Membership can be requested by filing an issue here or by asking during one of the regular IRC meetings. Current members can raise objection, and in case of disagreement membership requests can be put to a vote, but in general we'd welcome anybody that's willing to do work within the scope.

Thoughts? If folks are ok with this I'll formalize it in the wiki.

@dcavalca probably something that needs to be considered is when to remove people :) probably some checks every 6 months if member is still responsible and does (plan to do) anything related to the SIG?

lol yeah, good call. Having to show proof of life every six months (which can be actual work, engagement, showing up in meetings, etc) seems reasonable to me.

Makes sense to me on both the process for adding and removing people.

I've updated the wiki with the new policy as discussed here.
