#2 setup regular checkin meeting
Closed 3 years ago by dcavalca. Opened 3 years ago by dcavalca.

@alphacc can you elaborate on how this works? should I just register a channel on Freenode, or is there a "meetings" channel we should use for this? https://wiki.centos.org/SIGGuide#SIGGuide.2FSIGProcess.Daily_Workings_.28Meetings.29 mentions a meeting bot and some commands but is light on details otherwise. Thanks!

Hi,

#centos-meeting and #centos-meeting2 are available for meetings with Centbot (auto upload of minutes, etc...)
https://wiki.centos.org/irc#A.23centos-meeting

We can also request a #channel to CentOS ircops for the SIG discussion if you'd like #centos-hs or similar ?

Thomas

Thanks! Yeah, I think a dedicated channel would be useful to centralize discussion and keep it in the open. Let's go with #centos-hyperscale to make it clear what it is. Is there an issue tracker for ircops to request this?

As discussed, @alphacc will reach out to ircops to get the channel created and setup for meetings.

As agreed, I made the request to ircops for #centos-hyperscale + @centbot
I'll update the issue when ready.

@alphacc any update on this? would love to have the channel in place before the Dojo talk so we can point people to it

Oh sorry, I though I updated this ticket. Channel is ready and few people joinned already ! #centos-hyperscale @ freenode

Thanks, just joined now

Filed https://github.com/CentOS/Calendar/pull/41 to get this added to the calendar, and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1924217 to get the tool packaged while at it.

Note: updated the PR to use #centos-meeting for regular meetings, as #centos-hyperscale isn't logged.

This is on https://www.centos.org/community/calendar/ and the first meeting is Feb 17. I'll post to centos-devel@ next week to announce it and then close this.

@dcavalca can you create "meeting" tag in this repo so that particular issues can be tagged and discussed during the meeting?
