#389 DNS: add CNAME for Hyperscale SIG downloads
Closed: Invalid 2 years ago by arrfab. Opened 2 years ago by dcavalca.

The Hyperscale SIG is producing a Workstation spin (https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2021-July/077156.html). While this will eventually get built in CBS (once things like #307 and #388 are sorted out) and delivered via the mirror network, for the time being we're doing builds manually and putting them in a S3 bucket so we can get early feedback and iterate quickly. In other to make this more accessible, we'd like a DNS record we can point to Cloudfront -- something like hyperscale.centos.org, though the actual name doesn't matter, and this doesn't even have to be on centos.org, if we have a better domain for this kind of stuff that works too. The actual record we need is just a CNAME to d2r1r30d0ahkv5.cloudfront.net (right now that just lists the bucket contents, but we'll have an actual landing page shortly). We expect to have to occasionally update this CNAME, but it should be fairly static otherwise.

per internal policy, we don't point centos.org DNS records to infra we don't manage/control, so closing this request for now and we can work on the real production flow to build and deliver through cbs.centos.org instead
