#236 Resynced e-mail address
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by arrfab. Opened 3 years ago by sbluhm.

Please re-add my groups for sbluhm. I have synced up the e-mail address for both, the CentOS and Fedora account.

Let me know if I changed the wrong account e-mails (too many accounts and ways to change e-mails...)

Hi there!

As part of the AAA/Noggin project which will replace FAS, the CPE team has developed a script to migrate user data from the legacy FAS server to its successor.
When we ran this script, your username was detected to be registered to both Fedora and CentOS with different emails for each.
As we are merging the authentication systems of both projects into one, we would ask that if you own both accounts you make sure the same email address is used in both accounts by updating your account.
When we go live in mid-March, if the two accounts do not have the same email address we will not be able to merge them.
In that situation, the Fedora account will take precedence over the CentOS account and if you have the CentOS account, you'll need to create a new one and the old one will be discarded. Please make these changes as soon as possible. Once you have done that, you can open a ticket at https://pagure.io/centos-infra and if the email address matches in both the old and new systems, we will be able to add you back to the groups you were in.

So again please, if you own accounts with the same username in both Fedora and CentOS, make sure they use the same email address by Thursday 5th March.

If you require assistance, please reach out to the Noggin team on IRC Channel #fedora-aaa

I did the same now for the user: bittin so you can try to resync now

Hey @sbluhm ! I'm still seeing two different adresses in CentOS & Fedora as of right now, could you recheck please ?
Thanks!

@abompard ,

can you please do me a favour and tell me where to correctly change the CentOS one?
Thank you and best wishes,

Stefan

can we close this ticket ?

@arrfab , I would still like to see this solved, if possible.
I still do need some guidance at what location to change the CentOS e-mail address as my previous attempt seems to have been the wrong place.

well, it's in your profile on https://accounts.centos.org, so it should match the one from https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts.
When, done, it should be ok for the real migration (to be announced soon) and if you want to have it working for stg environment , the fas2ipa script would have to be ran again for that specific env

@arrfab , thank you. I have just now changed the relevant one at accounts.centos.org. Can you please resync the groups?

can't kick the process, but @abompard can :-)

Centos prod account migration scheduled (see whole thread here : https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2021-March/076680.html) and Fedora already went live in prod, so closing this ticket (that was for staging env), feel free to reopen if you think you need to.
