#1538 Liquid Mirror - IP change back to original IP
Closed: Fixed 17 days ago by arrfab. Opened 24 days ago by anthonysomerset.

Hi Team

After an outage of our mirror infra upon rebuilding/reconfiguring we noticed a possible ACL issue with downloads

@ERROR: Unknown module 'CentOS'
rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1817) [Receiver=3.2.3]
Mirror Ended at: Sat Jul 23 18:55:15 UTC 2022

our old IP was in 41.84.153.32/28 however we have removed that subnet from our cluster

now all our traffic should originate from 197.155.77.1 (197.155.77.0/24 is assigned to our mirror infra more generally)

please can the relevant ACL's be updated

Thanks

@anthonysomerset : it seems you're referring to the legacy mirror network, that disappeared when CentOS Linux 7 and Stream 8 both disappeared (in June 2024).
So that's normal that the CentOS rsync target/module doesn't work anymore, as all content was also removed from http://mirror.centos.org

If you want to become an official mirror for Stream 9 and 10, please follow the instructions written on https://www.centos.org/download/mirrors/ (register your mirror in Fedora mirrormanager and then open ticket with correct template)

Hi we are or should be stream mirrors already - but since a hardware failure i think we are hitting the ACL

https://mirrormanager.fedoraproject.org/host/2865 - as an FYI centos-stream.mirror.liquidtelecom.com

That ip is already in the ACL for centos-stream download (and as said the ::CentOS rsync module is legacy and not updated anymore as all content is gone since June.
So closing this request but feel free to reopen in case you can't download from ::CentOS-Stream-All as it means you're coming from a different ip/network somehow

Hi Still failing - not sure what happened with my original paste

No Mirror Process Detected
Mirror Started at: Mon Nov 18 14:54:12 UTC 2024
CentOS.org rsync service (mref1.afs1.stream.centos.org)
------------------------------------------------------------

This service is intended for the sole use of the CentOS worldwide mirror network
to synchronize mirrors.

Unless you are running or intending to run a listed public CentOS mirror
use a mirror listed at https://centos.org/download/mirrors

If you intend to populate a mirror for public use please read the
notes at https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/CreatePublicMirrors

If you do use this service then it is implied that you are providing a
mirror for public use and giving us authority to publicise such mirror.

@ERROR: Unknown module 'CentOS-Stream-All'
rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1863) [Receiver=3.2.7]

And checking public IP when i call out

centos@mirror:~$ curl v4.ident.me
197.155.77.1

but interestingly i think i found issue - when i specify V4 only mode in Rsync its working - looks like our V6 not working - 2c0f:fe40:8001:10::/64

IPv6 address 2c0f:fe40:8001:10::1 (from https://pagure.io/centos-infra/issue/868) was there but it seems you're coming from something else in the whole /64 (now added too)
