Already discussed in thread on centos-devel list but there was no consensus (yet) : do we want to migrate lists.centos.org lists from mailman2 to mailman3 ? CentOS 7 will be EOL next year and it's one of the last remaining centos 7 servers used in the infra. A ticket was already open so that the CentOS Board can take a final decision and then communicate it clearly.
After that, the infra Team will have to adapt and apply decision (migrate or not)

I think there are several alternatives which can be listed here and then remarked on. 1. Move to mailman3 on CentOS org equipment. Import and transition mailman2 archives into its DB. 2. Move to mailman3 as a secondary mailman instance on Fedoraproject hardware (that mailman already hosts fedorahosted.org and I think one other. It would also host the archives here. 3. Move 'discussions' to Discourse via discussion.fedoraproject.org . Archive all old mailing lists to a static set of pages and keep them for history and links. People would sign up to discourse and set up 'email' posting to keep things going.
The 3 item is one that has not had much 'uptake' from the people who either contribute or use streams currently. It would take work from people who are marketing oriented to drum up usage there.
The 2nd item may cause issues with DKIM and such. Those are probably workable but would need tie ins with Fedora Infrastructure to make it work.
The first item would mirror work at Fedora and would help make sure that mailman3 has focus on EL9/EL10 items.

Based on discussion with CentOS board members, this should be now prioritized and implemented before CentOS Linux 7 EOL
Finally had time to look at this and deployed by new ansible mailman3 role a dev instance : https://lists.dev.centos.org
Worth knowing that it's a scratch instance that will be deleted/redeployed multiple times but at least we have progress .. One missing rpm package was identified and is currently under review
status update : lists.centos.org is now running on mailman3 but keeping this ticket open for some time as we still have background task to update/create full-text indexes. I'll also close this ticket when previous mailman2 will have be reinstalled completely for some other needs (and contacted sponsor too)
previous server is now gone
