#1108 Decommission ocp.ci.centos.org openshift cluster
Closed: Fixed 2 years ago by arrfab. Opened 2 years ago by arrfab.

Per discussion/thread on ci-users list (and plan was announced last year, and several reminders sent to CI tenants), we'll decommission the openshift 4 cluster (https://sigs.centos.org/guide/ci/)

Needed steps :

  • shutdown ocp nodes (control plane nodes and workers)
  • remove dns A records
  • update haproxy config to remove rules
  • delete storage node and recycle for other needs
  • reinstall physical nodes with something else

steps 1 and 2 are now done but we'll just keep ticket open as a reminder to proceed with next steps, only after some days, in case some tenants who ignored multiple reminders will come back

Nobody asked for anything from old PersistentVolumes after one month, so we can now recycle the nfs/storage box for other purposes. Machine is being reinstalled right now with el9

@dkirwan and myself worked on this as we needed to also migrated other services in CI infra.
So we deployed with ansible a new boot server (dhcp/tftp/kickstart httpd server) and we then validated it was all working by having ansible fully remotely reinstalling the physical nodes used for OCP cluster.

Closing this ticket as old ocp is now completely gone
