bind-dyndb-ldap-1.1.0-0.9.b1.el6_3.1.x86_64 ate a lot of memory during 97 days:

top - up 97 days
 VIRT  RES  SHR  S %CPU %MEM    TIME+  COMMAND 
 1568m 1.0g 3756 S  0.0 55.3 105:47.86 named

Further investigation is needed.

All memory leaks I found in bind-dyndb-ldap were fixed in 2.0 release.

Commit IDs:

  • cfa8277 Fix memory leaks in dynamic update PTR synchronization.
  • f390c94 Fix memory leak in configuration with multiple LDAP instances.
  • 6114ae2 Fix two memory leaks in persistent search.
  • 77c06ea Fix two memory leaks in ldap_query().
  • 2b95bc0 Fix various memory leaks in Kerberos helper code.

There is another memory leak in krb5-libs. It is present at least in [Fedora 17] and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=911147 RHEL 6.4.

Named in RHEL 6.4 contains two small memory leaks in GSS-TSIG handling, but these leaks should not consume significant amount of memory.

It was fixed in version 2.0 back in 2012.
