#36 Fedora Ambassador Day North America (FADNA)
Closed: Fixed None Opened 11 years ago by inode0.

It has been a couple of years since we had our last FADNA and I think with a lot of new active ambassadors in the region it might be a good time to start planning our next one.

For those who don't know a Fedora Ambassador Day is the original FAD where ambassadors from a region get together for a short time, normally 1-3 days, and work on planning and organization of ongoing and upcoming ambassador business including longer term event and swag planning.

This is a place for us to start working on agenda items for the FAD as well as planning the location and time. Once we have a concrete proposal we can move on to trying to obtain FAD funding.

Please add comments, agenda items for the FAD, suggestions for dates/location, etc. to this ticket.

I would like to propose Orlando FL for the location its easy to get to and lots of flights.

I would like to propose Atlanta GA since it is one of Delta's hubs and therefore would have direct flights for a lot of people.

I'd like to propose the following:

Dates: October 19-22
Location: Stanford University Stanford, CA

There are plenty of hotels in a 5 mile radius of the university and it would be a good place for on topic discussion.

Also we have a few local Fedora Ambassadors that could provide transportation to and from the event/airport(s) (SJC/SFO).

Those October dates conflict with OLPC world wide gathering. 2 of the local Ambassadors are already planning to be repping for Fedora for the Summit. http://olpcsf.org/summit

+1 for Atlanta, at least for the SE/Mid-Atlantic region. Extremely reasonable flights from ~1/2 of the US and a huge number of facilities.

+1 to Atlanta, lots of places

Proposed Agenda Item:

Bring all Three Event Boxes together for inventory and to be sure all 3 boxes have simulair equipment as possible.

Inventory all 3 boxes and make sure Wiki Pages exist for all 3 USA boxes.
and organization of all 3 boxes

At the 2012-09-26 FAmNA meeting it was agreed to host FADNA in conjunction with FUDCon Lawrence. FADNA will begin the day before FUDCon and will include some addition sessions during FUDCon proper.

Need updates to agenda, details, and events for FADNA. Please email items to award3535@fedoraproject.org

Results per 12-12-2012 FAmNA meeting:

action Update your travel plans on the wikipage if you're attending FADNA

idea will there be a presentation package available for review for those who cannot attend FADNA?

  • Ambassadors unable to attend would greatly appreciate a FADNA media, presentation, information. The material would greatly improve and put them on the same page with everyone else.

action graphite6 will confirm FADNA room and ask Ruth for the details and put them on the wikipage

  • Ruth replied and will get back to us when she has more details.
  • FADNA will start between 9-10 AM on Thursday

action video equipment will be available during FADNA - what do we want to document? put your ideas on the FADNA wikipage
