In case I can't make it, I'm +1 for this budget request. Less than we've spent on it in years past, which is great!

FAmNA approved budget of $2,500.00 on 29 Jun 2017

I am concerned by several issues related to this ticket:

1) This budget is not in the ledger file.

2) The NA region is currently overspent. The council ticket requesting budget did not specify this event, but instead asked for money for DVDs. That ticket has not been answered by NA for 3 months: https://pagure.io/Fedora-Council/tickets/issue/108

3) This event also doesn't seem to directly address who the target market is beyond LUG members and possibly students. It also doesn't describe how delivery of the "memorable experience" is planned. I'd like to see this fleshed out more so we have a basis for evaluating the impact of this event. This also ensures we are planning for success and not just showing up.

The NA region should definitely continue to plan activities, however this one is currently not supported by a budget allocation. Fixing the budget allocation is as simple as filing a council ticket and justifying the needs. The council wants to see great ambassador activities that support Fedora's overall goals, mission, objectives, and values.

Definition of the Market, let me ask what direction you wish Fedora to go. We are a community project not corporate. As an Ambassador for the community, I will need some clarification on what the council exactly wants out of us.

I have closed the council ticket #108, We as FAmNA decided to produce media at the event vice spend the budget on pressed media. Without knowing budget limitations we cannot effectively plan events out so that we do not exceed allowed budget. I have created a ticket for the council to answer budget questions.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAMNA_event_owner_guidelines details our process, if this needs to be updated to include wiki event template please give us direction.

I replied to this a while ago but for whatever reason I don't see it posted here, so I'll cut and paste: =)

In regards to numbers 1 and 2 please provide evidence for this. Over the past years I've never received regular reports of the budget and as far as I know we do not have the ability to generate a line item report. As we are discussing this further, having that information available to all members of FAMNA would be ideal so we can continue the conversation from a place of enlightenment rather than ignorance. Thanks!

@award3535 the NA treasurer has commit access to the budget repository (https://pagure.io/fedora-budget/) that drives the publication of budget data on the budget website (https://budget.fedoraproject.org/). Today the publishing is manually initiated by me, but it will be automated as new changes land in Pagure and Fedora-Infra. It is rare for reports to be out of date for long.

His correct entries will flow through the NA report here: https://budget.fedoraproject.org/FY17/na.html

Currently there are no line items reports other than reading the ledger file itself. This is because no one has provided a report template and need. As NA votes and approves all line items, I suspect the aggregate numbers are fine. If NA needs line item information that isn't able to be gleaned from the ledger file (https://pagure.io/fedora-budget/blob/master/f/FY18/ledger/na.ldg) then let's talk in an issue on that repo and figure it out.

The council relies on the regional treasurers and card holders to relay this information to the regional ambassador groups.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/OLF_2017 was modified to reflect new guidelines, will verify entries in the budget ledger
