#142 Ambassador join page does not have any active mentors listed for North America

This is a blocker for new ambassadors joining in the region. I realize it is voluntary to be a mentor, so if anyone listed as inactive would like to change their status, please update your listing.

Is there a process for becoming a new mentor, other than adding your name to this wiki page?

Thanks All!

== FAmNA Mentors ==
There are two on the page that are listed as available. Andrew Ward is probably the best point of contact for new mentors and he is currently available. Mark Terranova is also available, although I am not sure of his status (I recall him being stating he was going to be busy for some time).

Of that list, there are a few that may be permanently unavailable, and I think it may be a good idea to remove them from the list pending a time when they actually are available once again.

I am CCing the above four mentors as a chance to comment on their status, or whether they would possibly want to consider passing the torch onto someone else and stepping down if they no longer have the time and/or interest to be mentors for FAmNA.

I know Karsten is a doer of things elsewhere in the Project, I think? Not sure on his status either, so I am CCing him on this ticket as well.

== Mentor Retirement ==
There is a [https://fedorahosted.org/famsco/ticket/359 ticket] on the FAmSCo Trac about formalizing the process for retiring inactive mentors. However, it is an older ticket. I added my thoughts for how this process could be formalized four weeks ago to the ticket.

I'm hoping FAmSCo can work on addressing this in the near future.

== Mentor Process ==
The only current way for a new mentor to be selected is by a current mentor nominating a new mentor in the FAmSCo Trac. Traditionally, FAmSCo would then vote on the nomination and either accept or reject the nomination.

== New Mentor ==
We actually do have one new mentor pending acceptance in the FAmSCo Trac. [https://fedorahosted.org/famsco/ticket/384 MarkDude nominated nb] as a new mentor for the FAmNA region. This ticket is pending review by FAmSCo, although two current members of FAmSCo have positively backed his nomination.

There is also discussion about our existing mentors in that ticket, as mailga pointed out it seemed concerning that a fair amount of mentors were already listed (but not all of them active).

'''Discussed in [https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting/2016-03-18/famna.2016-03-18-00.56.html 2016-03-17 meeting].'''

The [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors_Join_choose_a_mentor wiki page] has been updated to reflect our newest mentor, Nick Bebout, and there is now a more distinct separation of available and unavailable mentors.
