I prefer to let's up to you the quantities, if you ship low quantities we probably have to ask more soon.
if we have some stuff on hand the people will get's motivated to organize more, otherwise we have to do the same as the Panamenians did , stop requesting swags and request funding for pizza / coke ( congrats to all of them because they are smart enough to know that these stuff won't arrive on time for Flisol)
If we allow for longer lead times we can easily ship things in time for events. We can also ship directly to countries and not through transhippers as desired.
I can't ship until I know what to ship.
Swag on hand should not be the only motivator for events. That seems to indicate that we don't do any planning in advance which makes me worried we don't have an actual plan.

fisl = 3000+ attendes, latinoware 4000+, we generally only give stickers to people who has a fas account, Fedora installed, or answer a question about Fedora (avoiding people hunting for free stickers)
about shipping directly to Brazil I can't accept that offer, in clear words the Brazilian government steals their own people (charging 100% in import duties is stealing), I am a libertarian.

about quantities I saw on ticket #454 that you have shipped 2.3 KG of items (5 lbs) to Santiago-Chile, I think you have shipped more items than he asked for.

Unlike other tickets, I haven't seen approvals in this one. Perhaps we can get some approval notes here?
If we only give stickers to people who have FAS Accounts we shouldn't need 7000 stickers for these events. In some areas we have a general rule htat swag is needed for only about 10% of the attendees because it isn't possible to talk to everyone. What is the standard in Brazil?
I understand your concerns, however the project is potentially willing to pay the import duties. That said, you seem to be both asking for items to be shipped and then saying you will receive to accept the packages. This is confusing.
I do not pack the items personally. If we discover excess quantities were shipped, I will address it with the shippers. This way may also not be exact. Shipping contracts in the US often allow for a "dummy" weight to be entered into the system and the shipper trues it up when the package is actually received. This allows for faster transit processing.
I am not going to make decisions about what gets shipped and to whom. I am looking to the LATAM group to approve the shipping of specific items. This request is even harder as I do not do the packing and must specify the exact items that should be shipped.
I'd appreciate your help in identifying exactly how many of which items are needed to help which events in Brazil be successful.
@itamarjp please put the specific needs of swag (items and quantities) and we can vote to approve this in 1 day (or less).

For me, e.g. it makes sense that you request all the Portuguese Swag. For everything else, it's really needed the exact amount of each item you want.

Dropping ownership until this is approved. @itamarjp I suggest we consider direct shipping to Brazil so that we can have any import duties, ideally, paid via the shipping company and charged back to avoid reimbursement issues.
