-1 Venezuela has a strong user base and several collaborators, funding some one to travel to help an event that is well staffed makes no sense to me.

On the other hand, if you are willing to participate in the local event in your actual city or to organize an event in your locality if there isn't any in process, investing funds in swag for that local event will make sense.
