Dear all,
at https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/social-scientists-using-fedora-gather-interests-resources/36048/11?u=ingli, the idea came up, to spell out a vision for a SIG Social Sciences.
A draft formulation of the vision is this:
We like Fedora to be a distribution that we can publicly well recommend to social scientists interested in using Linux. Fedora offers a space to consider social-technical issues and systems.
What do you think?
Another approach might be to say we are interested in making Fedora attractive to social scientists.
attractive
I suggest to focus on mission, objective & scope (and contributions) before formulating its summary: what & how to do/achieve. This includes the needs & their requirements we want to tackle.
I think this has to be done as precisely as necessary to derive tasks and an expressive summary/declaration.
Looking forward to the other's opinions about this and this (or something else) :)
