#479 Provide an option to specify DNS domain for service discovery
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by jhrozek.

We need to add a new option that would allow to specify the DNS domain used for service discovery. Authconfig would benefit from this because it names the SSSD domain it configures "default". If not specified, this option should default to SSSD domain name.

Moving this to NEEDS_TRIAGE.

I don't think we need this in 1.2.0, and I'd like to avoid feature-creep.

Authconfig can continue to require setting the URI explicitly for the time being.

OK, sorry. The reason I set the milestone to 1.2 was that initially I thought that we wanted to align the authconfig feature with the SSSD feature for sssd-1.2 official release. But that's probably not enough time.

Documentation update

If service discovery is used in a back end, the DNS domain used for the search can be specifed by the new option dns_discovery_domain. If not specified, the domain part of machineĀ“s hostname will be used (previously, it was the name of the SSSD configuration domain).
