Can you upgrade sssd-libwbclient accordingly?
Hi,
thanks for the report. May I ask how you are currently using sssd-libwbclient? I'm asking because it looks sssd-libwbclient is mainly obsolete because recent versions of Samba require that winbind is running because lots of the fall-back code which made smbd work with sssd-libwbclient got removed. So instead of updating sssd-libwbclient we were considering to deprecate it in favor of SSSD's idmap plugin for winbind, which allows to run winbind for the smbd needs while SSSD keeps managing the other system services.
bye, Sumit
I am trying to test this scenario: https://www.freeipa.org/page/Howto/Integrating_a_Samba_File_Server_With_IPA
Hi, don't use that. Since FreeIPA 4.8.2, there is native integration with samba using ipa-client-samba tool (packaged with the same name in RHEL/CentOS).
It is all documented in RHEL 8 documentation.
Thank you, Alexander, I will look at that.
