Ticket was cloned from Red Hat Bugzilla (product Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7): Bug 1644902
[root@np-ipa01 ~]# id administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net uid=942400500(administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net) gid=942400500(administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net) groups=942400500(administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400512(domain admins@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400519(enterprise admins@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400520(group policy creator owners@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400518(schema admins@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400513(domain users@test.angelsofclockwork.net) These are the ID's. I put in an ID override. [root@np-ipa01 ~]# ipa idoverrideuser-add --uid=13133 --gidnumber=13133 'Default Trust View' administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net ----------------------------------------------------------------- Added User ID override "administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net" ----------------------------------------------------------------- Anchor to override: administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net UID: 13133 GID: 13133 I check the ID... [root@np-ipa01 ~]# id administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net uid=13133(administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net) gid=13133(administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net) groups=13133(administrator@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400512(domain admins@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400519(enterprise admins@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400520(group policy creator owners@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400518(schema admins@test.angelsofclockwork.net),942400513(domain users@test.angelsofclockwork.net) This is the behavior I'm expecting where the UID and GID are the same and both reference the user and their private group. In IPA 4.6.4 and SSSD sssd-1.16.2-13.el7.x86_64 as part of RHEL 7.6 and Fedora SSSD 2.0.0, this is no longer the case.
