#3624 Randomize cache lifetime by a couple of percent
Closed: cloned-to-github 3 years ago by pbrezina. Opened 6 years ago by jhrozek.

This ticket captures another idea that @firstyear had in a private e-mail thread.

When SSSD is saving an object to the cache, we could randomize the cache lifetime by a couple of percent. This could mitigate LDAP search spikes in case SSSD is running in environments like compute notes where it's likely that all nodes might run the same commands at the same time - having entries expiring at the same time might cause all nodes to file update request at the same time.
