The format specification for the file provider need to support "if exist" and "if more" tags for the keys in the format specifier so that the part of the format string would be omitted if the attribute is not present or there are no more instances of the multi-value attribute. There are already some tags but they are rudimentary and need more improvements.
This should come with official ELAPI 1.0 release that would be some time before 1.2.
