#3313 cache_req should use an negative cache entry for UPN based lookups
Closed: Fixed 2 years ago Opened 3 years ago by sbose.

In the old (non-cache_req) code a special name was used to add UPN lookups to the negative cache because otherwise the UPN lookup wasn't done at all because the previous plain name based lookup would already add an entry to the negative cache. See commit 62df785 for details.

Please see attached quick-and-dirty patch I used to get around this. There might be a more elegant solution.

Patch looks good. I think it would be better to extract it into sss_ncache_set_upn(), sss_ncache_check_upn().
