#2846 Inform about SSSD PAC timeout better
Closed: Fixed None Opened 8 years ago by jhrozek.

Ticket was cloned from Red Hat Bugzilla (product Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7): Bug 1273507

Please note that this Bug is private and may not be accessible as it contains confidential Red Hat customer information.

Description of problem:

Please make it so that a message is printed upon a PAC timeout.
Currently there is nothing printed so we do not know whether there is a timeout
or something else going on.

If you want this in the form of an RFE, let me know.

To my understanding you are well aware of the issue, just putting it in paper.

Thanks,
George.

This is making debugging harder and at the same time, it's literally adding two DEBUG statements. I think this is entirely doable in 1.13.

Quick implementation proposal (and feel free to create the patch differently, this is just an idea) -- before calling the PAC responder, add a TRACE_FUNC message that would say that contacting the PAC responder might take a bit of time in case the cache is not populated or up to date.
