#268 Misleading Error Message When sssd.conf Has Wrong Permissions
Closed: Fixed None Opened 14 years ago by myllynen.

When /etc/sssd/sssd.conf has permissions 0644 the sssd init script simply prints FAILED and nothing additional info neither to the screen or syslog. When trying with sssd -i, sssd complains about read/write error on ConfDB. Finally sssd -i -d 3 reveals the real reason why sssd was not starting.

Please make it more obvious to find out the real reason preventing sssd to start up in this case.
