#188 Error messages changed to Ambiguous Messages Since db Splitting

Since the database splitting patches were submitted, error messages trying to manipulate users and groups across domains have changed and are now too ambiguous to determine what the problem is.[[BR]]

  1. Attempting to modify an LDAP domain user - with a LOCAL and LDAP domain configured:[[BR]]
    ERROR: Unexpected Error message. Got: Could not modify user - check if group names are correct Expected: The selected UID is outside the allowed range[[BR]][[BR]]

  2. Attempting to delete an LDAP domain user - with a LOCAL and LDAP domain configured:[[BR]]
    ERROR: Unexpected Error message. Got: Internal error. Could not remove user. Expected: The selected UID is outside the allowed range[[BR]][[BR]]

  3. Attempting to delete an LDAP domain group - with a LOCAL and LDAP domain configured:[[BR]]
    ERROR: Unexpected Error message. Got: Internal error. Could not remove group. Expected: Unsupported domain type[[BR]]

This is actually not simo's fault, the tools should know that the domains you are trying to operate on are not local and error out appropriately. I need to deal with this bug.
