#1641 Entering an empty password returns System Error

Joschi also suggested defaulting to AUTH_ERR instead of SYSTEM_ERR once we get to the authentication routine.

This is a duplicate of #1310. Michal's testing also confirmed there are no error messages anymore.

The problem was fixed in 383fa7e
