#2 Imposible to READ Discipline Policy
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by jakfrost. Opened 3 years ago by hhlp.

evince give a error trying to read this file...

is a draft/beginning or something else

Regards.,

Hello @hhlp ,
I can read it with Document Viewer in Gnome, as I had copied it from the original spigot forum site doc's. However, whenever I try to view it here with my Silverblue WS, I get the error about html/text not being viewable in Document Viewer (evince).
[Edit]May 28- 0802Hr EST - Renamed files to remove open spaces and used dashes in between filename words. This didn't help the issue. Tried opening the pagure site with Eolie. Clicked on file 'Discpline-Policy.pdf' which resulted in Pagure offering a possible indicator of the issue you are having. Apparently you cannot view a binary file inline and you get the option (with Eolie not Firefox) to view the raw content (which you want since it is already PDF formatted). Try using Eolie to view it.

This is weird. :eyes: I can copy+paste the private post in the Fedora Discourse thread here where I originally shared the doc.

To throw one more resource I have out there, I used to run a Minecraft server for seven years, which was a 1000+ community of people aged between 13-60 years old. I had a server staff to help me enforce the basic rules of our game server. To help them make the right decisions and to feel confident in taking disciplinary action, I wrote a Discipline Policy (below). The detailed rules are specific to Minecraft, but here’s what worked well:

  1. Define specific examples of what is unacceptable or inappropriate behavior
  2. Provide tiers of “punishment” [¹] for repeat offenders
  3. Define an intentionally subjective policy of compound punishment

¹ — I don’t really like using the word “punishment” here, but for the purpose of this discussion, I didn’t think too hard on alternate vocabulary.

I'm closing this issue if you don't mind. This seems to be a Firefox on SB issue, though I haven't tried standard F32WS to verify. I can use Eolie and it will view the file inline, yet in FF I don't get the option for some reason.

I have re-opened this issue. I have converted the file (Discipline-Policy.pdf) to odg (libreoffice draw), html, and (pandoc) marktext format to help others view the information there. I will be pushing the files to the repo shortly.

Now we can view them inline as markdown, odg, html. I am closing this issue as fixed.
