The Matrix room is bridged to the IRC room; you are in both currently.

I added a clarifying remark.
Regardless of how this gets finalized, the link to the matrix room should appear somewhere obvious since that is how new contributors are likely to find their way to the chat (over IRC)

One other comment/note:
Both the discourse and meeting calendar links are dead ends for me - can anyone confirm that these are still active and should be updated or should they be removed?
