We want to create another Fedora Lab called Fedora Python Classroom Lab.
See the Change proposal for more info.
I'd like to kindly ask for a trademark approval for the Fedora Python Classroom Lab.
I'm not opposed to this from a trademark perspective (so, I guess, +1 to the basic request), but from a technical/presentation perspective, I wonder if rather than having a proliferation of special-purpose images, we would be better off working on some way to present these purpose-focused-collections-of-software as options in GNOME Software.
I see the advantage of having easy media for a classroom, but kickstarts could provide that.....
It was one of the main goals we decided to achieve on Flock's Fedora Loves Python panel. A kickstart for this maintained outside of the current infrastructure would bring us more trouble. Hovewer, i see your point.
Whether this will be done or not will be decided by FESCo once the change proposal is submitted. The way I understood it is that the Trademark Approval is a must if we even want to submit the proposal.
Since this is a trademark issue, it needs formal consensus. Council members, please vote +1 or -1 by next Wednesday (Feb 8th).
+1 to TM approval - I'd like to hear the result of the FESCo conversation if we need to weigh in on that. I did chime in on an ML thready somewhere ...
Although after the deadline, I'm +1 for the TM request.
Is this granted or not?
A little loose on the deadline, but we don't have any objections and we do have the three +1s, so, yeah, approved.
Thanks for clarifying.
