#334 Election Interview Questions - Council (Fedora 33)
Closed: resolved 3 years ago by bcotton. Opened 3 years ago by bcotton.

In order to move forward with the next election, we need to determine which questions the Council would like to have asked of candidates.

We need the Council to please identify the questions before 2020-11-11 so we can properly communicate them to candidates and so they enough time to answer them.

In case the selection is not complete by 11 Nov, the Election wrangler will use the same set of questions as the last election cycle:

  • Why are you running for the Fedora Council?
  • Why should people vote for you?
  • What do you want to accomplish as a member of the Fedora Council?

Some additional questions are listed in the wiki, or you may come up with new ones.

Hey @bcotton, is there an upper-bound on questions? I thought I remembered this coming up before, but I couldn't remember if we are limited to three questions. Just wanted to check.

There is no policy setting the number of questions. All three bodies have generally kept it to 3-4 on the assumption that people won't want to write or read more than that.

A few ideas:

  • What do you see as Fedora's place in the universe?

  • How can we best measure Fedora's success?

  • What big changes does Fedora need to make in the next five years in order to continue to be successful?

+1 to the proposed questions. I like those better than the others.

(Procedural note, if we don't have at least 3 +1s and no -1s by the deadline, I will still use the existing questions)

I'm +1 to my own, then.

Maybe also keeping one of the "you" questions from the original three, for a total of four?

Maybe also keeping one of the "you" questions from the original three, for a total of four?

I'd keep the "Why are you running for Fedora Council?" as it provides an opportunity to answer the other two.

+1 to the new questions

+1 to the new questions, and +1 to @bcotton's inclusion of one previous question.

Proceeding with the following:

  • Why are you running for Fedora Council?
  • What do you see as Fedora's place in the universe?
  • How can we best measure Fedora's success?
  • What big changes does Fedora need to make in the next five years in order to continue to be successful?
