#152 Autumn 2017 elections to Council
Closed: no action needed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by jkurik.

Today is the last day of Nomination period to Fedora Council in Autumn 2017 elections. Currently (Dec 4th @ 9:00 UTC) we have only 1 nominee for 2 open seats in the Fedora Council. As we have less nominees that open seats I would like to ask the Fedora Council for approval of the following approach:

  • If there still will 2 or less nominees for Council on Dec 4th @ 23:59:59, the Voting period will be skipped and all the nominees will be considered as elected.
  • In case there will be 3 or more nominees on Dec 4th @ 23:59:59, the elections will continue and 2 candidates will be elected from the nominees during the planned Voting period.

I would like to ask all the Council members to vote in this ticket. Due to urgency of this ticket I would apply lazy consensus with deadline set on Dec 4th @ 23:59:59.

Same as for ticket #152 , can we extend the nomination period and all of us look out for more candidates? Would be nice to have some non-RH contributors in the list too.

PS: I didn't run because I didn't want to have 2 seats, but to give others the opportunity to be on the Council. If needed, I can do it.

As Mindshare lead, you're already a full council member, so should not run for an elected seat.

I also believe that we should move forward as @robyduck proposed in #152 with the caveat that if we don't have any more candidates we elect the vacation seat in the next cycle. I believe that we should push Diversity to send us their member to round out the council.

Problem solved. We now have three nominees.
Thanks for your proposals and comments.
