Please see the draft document at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Playground.
I'm looking for Council approval for the general process and for this document in specific. I'm working with Design on a logo and logo guidelines.
Actually approving specific projects for this will come later.
it'd be nice to see some text under "What is this for"
Ooh. Yeah, I guess I didn't write that. :)
If you have a combination of Fedora software and non-Fedora software (possibly including non-free software), that could be a Fedora Remix. (But, if you are aiming to polish it up, maybe Playground is the right place.) the first paragraph under "The Process" has an incomplete parenthetical. It appears to want to mention the mission.
Hmmm that part I did write and got lost somewhere. Will go back and look for it.
Missing parenthetical was supposed to refer to Fedora Objectives. I've added that, but not linked anywhere, because the plan is to link to New Unicorn Docs site.
I also finished the missing section and deleted the possibly misleading line about remixes.
Looks good
I'll admit... I still have no idea what this is for.
I also have no concrete idea what this should be for. Basically it fits all the requirements of Fedora software, so I am fine with that. When I hear Playground I am thinking about an old proposal for specific RPM packages, which then could be added to the Fedora repos (I think this is COPR now). Can anyone help me to understand this proposal more? Maybe an example? (/me is sometimes a bit slow...)
I was a bit confused from the discussion on this topic we had during the Council meeting. Reading the minutes again it seems to me like the Playground here means "a staging dedicated for a particular project". Is that what is required ? That a specific project will have its own copy of some parts of infrastructure ?
Okay, so, this is completely clear and obvious in my mind, but it is equally clear that I'm not able to transmit that to anyone else, which is ... a sign.
I'm going to mothball this idea in favor of Josh's suggestion: let's funnel things like this into Objectives.
