+ = Fedora Diversity Advisor =

+

+ Fedora is a big community that includes contributors and users from many

+ different countries, each with their own experiences and historical

+ backgrounds that contribute to a diverse mix of cultural, educational,

+ and behavioral norms. To continuously create and foster an inclusive

+ environment in the Fedora community, it’s important to respond to the

+ needs of existing contributors and users, and welcome new contributors

+ and users from diverse backgrounds.

+

+ The *Fedora Diversity Advisor* acts as a source of support and

+ information for all contributors and users, especially those from

+ underrepresented populations, so that issues of inclusion and equity can

+ be discussed and addressed with the planning of multiculturalism and

+ comfort. The Fedora Diversity Advisor will lead initiatives to assess

+ and promote equality and inclusion within the Fedora contributor and

+ user communities, and will develop project strategy on diversity issues.

+ The Diversity Advisor will also be the point of contact for Fedora’s

+ participation in third-party outreach programs and events.

+ [[selection]]

+ Selection

+ ---------

+

+ The Diversity Advisor is selected by the

+ link:https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Diversity[Fedora Diversity team]

+ and approved by the Fedora Council. Currently the Diversity Team has

+ decided to rotate the position with every release of Fedora.

@amsharma

Please either edit this or give me the data to make an edit for you to correct or delete the contact and meetings section.

Also, I know you want to make some edits. I strongly encourage you to remove the resources and goals sections and move them to the Diversity Team page. Then we could add a statement that additional resources are available on the Diversity Team page. This will make this document more durable. WDYT?

@bex I agree with you on all the points plus I would like to add the information about the rotational duties information for this position as decided, if you think it will be good to add.

For the contact - IRC nick can be given as amsharma on #fedora-diversity
Meeting should be in team's pages as this is diversity team (contributor's meeting).
Sounds good?
