#90 Web Warrior
Closed: Pushed None Opened 10 years ago by patches.

name: Web Warrior
description: Removed a bundled item from a web application package. Untangle that web!
--

This badge is for people involved in the [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Web_Assets multi-release effort to clean up our web applications], including maintainers that clear up their own bugs related to this, and to provenpackagers that help close out big ticket items.

Artwork idea: a spider untangling a web. (If you can handle icky spiders in your badges alongside the cute pandas and badgers. ;-)

Right off the bat, this reminds me of the "Devendorizor" badge we did for a fesco ticket. If you're in a position to do so, it would be a help if you can build a list over time of all the persons who helped with the multi-release effort. With that, we can script the badge to each of those fas accounts like we did with devendorizor.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of when I asked for this. I already have a list that contains several people who've already rid their packages of evil Flash blobs. ;-)

Since I guess this requires manual work on your part to award, and this is a multiple release effort, it'd be nice to at least do them in batches every Fedora release (or maybe more often like at Alpha or Beta) so people don't have to wait until Fedora 25 to get their badges.

I'd also like to do a couple one-off badges for big related efforts like [https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Web_Assets#Fonts font metadata cleanup], which really doesn't fit with the spirit of this badge, if that's okay with you guys. (Going to file a ticket for this one soon.)

Let me know if this works. I'll add it to artwork-approved in a few days if there are no objections.

That's awesome, thanks!

I'll attach a list of people who already deserve this badge so it can launch with a few recipients. :-)

Pushed! https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/web-warrior

I used the SOP to award it - http://infrastructure.fedoraproject.org/infra/docs/badges.txt

I'm closing the ticket. Patches, when you need to award another batch just re-open the ticket and ping anyone in the sysadmin-badges FAS group.
