Closed: declined 4 years ago by riecatnor. Opened 6 years ago by jibecfed.

Hi, first design and name of #221 would be really suited for a person attending many events!
Maybe 5 events?

Here is one of the previous designs:

@jibecfed Hey, I've made a artwork concept for this badge (inspired by Pratchett's Twoflower). Comments welcome.

@jibecfed, how do you think this should be awarded? Based off of event badges awarded? I think that would make sense.

@svitek, this is a really great start! I have a few suggestions to make it just right :)

I think the categorization for this should be events, vs community. Please change the outer ring to be the events purple. Although community does make some sense, I think if make this reoccur it makes more sense to be an event badge. Can you try a version with a grey background with the rays on top?

The camera and the badger arms are basically the same color, and it's a little confusing to look at. Try making the camera lighter versions of grey, so that it pops off the badgers arms. Also confusing is the little area at the bottom where the stomach shows just a tiny bit... I would continue the shirt down so that area is more simple.

Can you try a version with a fedora blue shirt?

Thanks! looking forward to what you come up with :)

Yep!

For the design: whatever you'll find it nice.

For the mechanism: you can decide to say after three event, grant the badge, or build a series. I think we are not equal regarding how many event we can attend. I suggest to focus on Flock, and set the limit on 3. (I don't remember the name of Flock in other part of the world). You may want to discuss this with outreach team to see what they think about it. Ping @jonatoni

I think it's better to not be focused only at Flock because we have different events that Fedora have a presence and we have a specific badge for that event. I think we can count each event that we have a Fedora presence (booth, talk, workshop etc) because each of them has their own importance that's why contributors go there to represent Fedora. If we decide to not be focused only at Flock then we can set the limit 5 for example and we can include here events like Flock/FOSDEM/EuroPython/DevConf etc.

Well, if this is the outreach group point of view, that's really fine to
me. Can you confirm you discussed this with team members?

This is my own personal opinion because we don't have an outreach specific group but we can invite people from commops/marketing/ambassadors subprojects to know their feedback.

Yep, please do it :) I'm sure you know the best pick <3

Would be great if you can post this at their mailing list, we will have more feedback :)

@jonatoni @jibecfed sounds like you guys are working out the specifics. My own opinion is that event badges are skewed towards people who are capable of traveling, so not sure we want to make this a huge series. I think this could be a small series.. so after a person has traveled to 5, 25, 50 events (received that many badges). 3 badges is a nice round number, but not too many. We can add in a number once the artwork has been solidified. Of course, if this is being discussed other places, I think to bring that discussion here or make sure we are aware before publishing this badge is important.

@svitek thanks for making those changes! @mleonova and I are reviewing this in the badges meeting... everything is looking great except the area with the arms and the camera. Camera has a nice simple design, but it is still blending in. Try some different color outlines to see if you can make it stand out a bit more. Also, round out the shape of the arms, they are looking a little small compared to the badger as a whole.. might be nice to have the paws holding the camera like this: https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3901/14942768988_74bd08d428_b.jpg

@riecatnor I totally agree with you, we don't need too many badges and I think that 3 is enough.

Hi @svitek! Do you think you could make the suggested changes to this badge, so we can go on and work on the series? Thanks!
