#539 Flock 2017 Party Badge
Closed: fixed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by maryshak1996.

Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):
"Steampunk Arcade"

Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is awarded for certain kinds of activities:
1) What are those activities?

Part of the usual Flock events agenda involves a party; we want to award a badge to the attendees of the 2017 party

2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans? users? sponsors?)

Flock attendees

3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)

Because it's fun!

4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)

Only given out for this one-time Flock 2016 event

5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console? by using a web interface?)

QR code scan / visit link

Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?

This years party is going to be at Professor Wackenhammer's Steampunk Arcade, so steampunk graphics would be a great place to start.

Hi @maryshak1996, great concept! The dynamic of that illustration is just perfect! I have a few comments:
dark blue background is usually reserved for presenter badges, so depending on where the party is planned to be held, can we update the background? I think we can use pretty much any color.
I think the rope outline can be dropped - we have enough bands around the badge already, do you agree?
* I love the illustration itself! couple things here: what time does the clock show? :) can the gears actually work? that key is adorable, one little thing to improve would be clean up the outline where the rope is coming through.

Let me know what you think ;)

Hey @mleonova , I kind of decided to look at this badge with some fresh eyes, took a couple of elements from the previous, but otherwise redid this badge to better mesh with the rest of the Flock designs (now that I'm clearer on the Flock Cape Cod colors the above design just didn't seem to fit). I thought that it might be fun to give a nod to the "arcade" aspect of the venue in addition to the steampunk theme, so I added the joystick design :) any thoughts on these updates? I can definitely go back to something more similar to the original, but I thought I'd pose another option!

@maryshak1996 perfect! the white seems to balance out the contrast nicely :)

Since this seems to be in a relatively done phase, as well the QR scan poster, can we get the QR generated to on the poster?

@maryshak1996 you need to file a separate ticket for qr generation

Well maybe not, i dont know w pagure. @nb how do you handle qr generation requests now?

The badge has to be pushed, then someone can generate the QR code. I'll try to do this today.

@duffy could you please set this to artwork approved?

@nb Can the description be updated to say it's a Flock 2017 party? It is quite not clear when you don't know and look at the badge.
