'''1) What are those activities?'''
Being a member of Amateur Radio SIG https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/AmateurRadio?rd=SIGs/AmateurRadio
'''2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans? users? sponsors?)'''
Mostly Packagers
'''3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)'''
They contribute to the popularization of Fedora by providing packages to the Ham Radio community worldwide. They are interested in developing Fedora Hams SIG Spin.
'''4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)'''
They are constantly talking about the improvement of Fedora for Ham Radio usage. Badge is given once they join the SIG and retroactively as well.
'''5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console? by using a web interface?)'''
SAS/IRC.
'''Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?'''
Yes. I am attaching a preliminary idea.
The use of the International Amateur Radio Symbol seems appropriate.
Other idea would be a variation of the "Telegraphist" badge, since Telegraphy is a symbol of Amateur Radio, not only historically, but still as an active mode of transmission now a days: CW mode (Continuous Transmission), but I still prefer the first idea.

@rodrigodearaujo, thanks! Can you make the logo more prominent?

Hi riecatnor!
First of all, excuse for my very late reply! I'm glad that the concept has been approved! :-)
I made a mistake while saving the first version of file. I left a visible part that should not appear when viewed at full size.
I'm still an apprentice in Inkscape. I made an improvement by increasing the yellow logo to almost the edge of the shield to make it look more prominent. If you find that there is still room for improvement, please tell me what to change, so that the badge can look its best.
Thank you.
73! ("Best Regards" in amateur radio language)
Looks good! Please upload a png :) Thank you!!
Hi rodrigodearaujo! Quick question, is there a FAS group for this SIG? If there is, we can set up a way for the badge to be automatically awarded to people who are sponsored into the SIG. I think doing it this way is the most effective way to handle it and will keep everything nice and automated for us down the line.
If there is not a FAS group, you can request one from the [https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure Fedora Infrastructure team].

Hi jflory7! I haven´t found the FAS Group of this SIG, that´s why I set to manually awarded. I contacted the members using their external list just to make sure. If there is not, then I can create one. I let you know when it´s ready so you can automate the process.

Okay, sounds good. I highly recommend that we use a FAS group for the awarding of this badge so it is all automated and not something we have to keep tabs on over time. If you could look into if there is a FAS group, and if not, start the process to create one, that would be great!

Hi again. Here is the ticket: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/5551
The group was created. Thanks to you and Kevin! https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts/group/view/fedora-hams
I started the process to push this badge, but ran into a strange issue (detailed in a [https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/5556 Fedora Infrastructure ticket]). Once we get to the bottom of this, we can get this badge done and pushed.

There is no hurry. Thanks for keeping me informed!
Badge YAML rule file for awarding to people who are sponsored into the group fas-amateur-radio-sig.yml
= Badge pushed =
Thanks everyone! I manually awarded the badge to the two members already in the group, but any future members should automatically receive the badge after they are sponsored into the group. If for some reason this doesn't work, please let us know so we can fix it! :)
