It's time this ticket got some action! riecatnor and I agreed to base the badge work on modern artists from the 20th century: Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Picasso, Dali and Roy Lichtenstein, all in all 5 badges.

Suggestion for the second badge. Not sure if dots are at all visible

I made some changes to the Roy Lichtenstein badge that mleonova and I discussed. See below:

Looks amazing! =) One thing I would suggest - maybe make the background grey, not blue, so it wouldn't steal attention from the face.

I like it more than blue! But I'm also kind of starting to miss the very first one, with all the background and speech bubble.

riecatnor> mleonova: I think it would be nice to see the ledge underneath the melty badge, so maybe make it just a bit smaller to see brown between white of badge and melty badge

Maybe a little bit off-topic, but… this just confirms it. The Design Team has the '''''coolest''''' badges! :)

Here I have arranged badges together, so we can evaluate and choose the best:

I'm assuming that the only badges up for contention are groupings (4) and (5).

(4) I like the one on the left, despite being a smaller headshot of the badger. I think the text bubble comment is a good addition.

(5) This one is harder, but maybe one of the blue badgers, for Fedora? Of the two blue badgers, I think the orange + pink has an easier contrast on the eyes with the blue badger.

My apologies on taking so long to review your updates.

4) I think we can go with the one on the left, but I have two suggestions. First, I think the hair and jacket vectors should be cleaned up. I can do this, like I did for the close up if you want me to. Second, I would like you two thicken up the stroke around the badger to help it pop off the background. :)

5) I also like the blue badger with the orange or pink!

Thoughts, mleonova?

Pink then? It's brighter)

Thoughts, mleonova?

So, these are so good that they require awesome names to go with them in https://badges.fedoraproject.org/ - can you all help me out with that?

For example "Persistence of Badger" is a good one. What are some of the other names of the original artwork? Can we come up with another play on words (or just substitution of "badger" in there?)

Here are some good examples from the "badge artist" series:

https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/badger-of-urbino-badge-artist-ii
https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/birth-of-badger-badge-artist-iii

You are totally right!
I came up with:
- Four Badgers (from Warhol's 'Four Marilyns')\
- M-maybe design (from Lichtenstein's 'M-maybe')
- Pop Badger (for Haring the closest I could find were the prints named 'Pop Shop')
- Seated Badger / Portrait of badger (Picasso named his portraits in this manner)

If you have any ideas, please share =)

FYI, I changed the way this badge works after discussion with @mleonova in IRC.

It used to be awarded to whoever closed the the ticket, but now it should go to the ticket owner. https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/badges.git/commit/?id=1c789051f0c3564facd306803e480fb3e5f2eaec

It was erroneously awarded to @mattdm after he closed a ticket.. so I've revoked those badges to set things straight.
