#241 FOSSASIA attendee / speaker
Closed: Pushed None Opened 10 years ago by gnokii.

We have an upcoming event in Phnom Penh/Cambodia end of February, with an 1.5 day track only with Fedora related topics and another day where we will have an hackfest for Fedora

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FOSSASIA_2014

I think we should have badges for attendees and speaker for this event.

I like it too!

Here's what needs to happen: So we 1) review and approve the art, 2) add the badge to badges.fp.o/, 3) an admin (me) creates a qrcode/url to award it, 4) we make a poster with that qrcode on it, 5) you print out as many as you think makes sense and then bring them and post them up around the fedora "areas" at FOSS Asia.

badge name: "FOSS Asia 2014 Attendee" description: "You hung out with the Fedora crew at FOSS Asia 2014"...

The badge is beautiful! But I feel the "2014" is shifted a little towards the right..

Yeah, I see what you mean and I agree. In your edits, I like the alignment but now I think that the whole design looks shifted to the left. I edited mine so that the 2014, FOSSASIA and the building are all aligned in the center of the badge.

Great, it looks perfect now! It was my first time playing with SVGs, and I was doing it on GlitterGallery ;-) One thing I noticed was that on the browser, the 2014 on your new upload still looked aligned improperly, but whereas when I downloaded it, it was perfect. It's probably an issue with how my/all browsers render SVGs, a bit of concern for me and Emily.

Thanks for the badge; just a suggestion, although I'm new here so I don't really know if I'm asking for something that isn't feasible: If these badges are going to be printed anyway, won't it be a nice idea to have them printed as stickers instead? - that way they stay with the receiver for longer & serve as a memory:-)

That happens to me as well. I usually just refresh the page and the new version will show up.

Things I need to know before moving forwards:

  • The fossasia-2014-attendee one looks like it is approved by design team. Is it?
  • The fossasia-2014-speaker one hasn't had any discussion yet. Is it approved by design team?
  • I need a list of FAS usernames of Fedora speakers as fossasia for the speaker badge. Please post them in the ticket.

riecatnor, can you add these to the git repo? Let me know -- then I can push it out and set up a claim url/qrcode for gnokii.

Pushed!

gnokii will be granted rights on the attendee badge so he can generated invite links and qrcodes for posters at fossasia itself.

gnokii, did you have any issues getting the qrcode set up for the foss asia attendee badge?
