#240 ¿Puedo ayudarle en algo? (Ask Fedora Es)
Closed: declined 4 years ago by riecatnor. Opened 10 years ago by williamjmorenor.

What the badge should be granted for: People than ask or answer a question in the spanish interfaz of Ask Fedora
Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"): You had your first interaction with the Ask Fedora forum system in Spanish.
Anything else we need to know:

Ask Fedora now support multi languages, this badge can help people use the spanish interfaz of ask fedora to get support in their language.

Currently are supported:
Spanish
Greek
Indonessian
Brazilian Portuguese

So I think to be fair I should be a badge for each language, if you agree with the idea of art I can upload badges for the other languages

Just an idea, use the Curious Penguin art with the colours of the country flag, Spanish = Red and Yellow with the two letter code for language.

¿Puedo ayudarle en algo? mean "Can I help you" in Spanish

This would require adding the language/locale to the fedmsg payload that gets published by askbot. I've filed a ticket for that on our plugin here: https://github.com/fedora-infra/askbot-fedmsg/issues/2

Allright, this one is possible now. the fedmsg payload from askbot now bears the 'language_code'. For example:

https://apps.fedoraproject.org/datagrepper/id?id=2014-3bd9022a-d6be-4869-92c3-5b267c8e7194&is_raw=true&size=extra-large

I agree with the idea and it will be easy to implement the last part. I'll just wait now on badges for the other languages and review from other design team members before moving forwards.

Awesome! Now we just need another designteam member to review them.

searchsam, I know we'll need .svg files of each badge before it can be approved. Can you provide those?

Ping @designteam -- this one has been sitting around for a bit now. Can anyone step in and review and or press the big green "approved" button?

@Ralph, have seen it 3 weeks ago, see comment spot on the mailing list about using flags.

Solution using the normal design and change the bg with an monument from the area everybody knows.

there are also some quality issues on some speech bubbles is an border around on some not, really goo to see is it on the spanish one, there is an border around the triangle so you can see that it is putted on top.

For people curious about the statement, I found it here in comment 2 of ticket #315.

So these will have to be re-done, unfortunately. @searchsam, @williamjmorenor: how does that sound?

Just restarting the conversation. I suspect landmarks will be difficult. This uses the CC-BY 2.0 [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christ_the_Redeemer_(statue)#/media/File:Cristo_Redentor_-_Rio_de_Janeiro,_Brasil.jpg image from Wikipedia] to use the landmark idea. Best to just rethink the entire design idea?

I'm thinking simpler would be better. Maybe ditch the flag and landmark ideas and go for a simple "thank you" or "hello" in each of the respective languages?

Hi Kyle! So we reviewed the badge in our badges meeting, and we definitely like the idea of it saying Hello in different languages! Also we'd like to keep the penguin with the speech bubble, and change the badge background to the original tan background like so:
[[Image(https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-badges/raw-attachment/ticket/240/ask-es.png)]]
I can see that your png looks a tad small, be sure to export it as 256x256.
Keep up the great work!

@kylerconway mentioned maybe pulling some inspiration from the this tshirt design for this badge
https://pagure.io/design/issue/525, all of the SVG elements should be available on the ticket
