What the badge should be granted for: Translators Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"): You travel Fedora overseas. Anything else we need to know: Need reports from Transifex.
We will need some way for transifex to notify us of events. Perhaps if they added a pubsubhubbub feature?
At this refer: http://support.transifex.com/customer/portal/questions/1326867-translators-statistics We need a premium Transifex account this need admin of fedora.transifex.
We can do many Badges:
Traveler Starter - You accepted on language team Traveler Baby - You have translated more than 1K words Traveler Young - You have translated more than 5K words Traveler Min - You have translated more than 10K words Traveler Med - You have translated more than 50K words Traveler Max - You have translated more than 100K words Traveler Boss - You have translated more than 500K words Traveler Master - You have translated more than 1M words Traveler Cheif - You have translated more than 5M words Traveler Ultimate - You have translated more than 10M words
Cool. moceap, can you find out what it would take to get a premium transifex account for this? If it requires money, perhaps there is a budget somewhere for this.
I use Transifex for long time: https://www.transifex.com/accounts/profile/moceap/
I don't think Fedora Transifex organization just a free account: https://fedora.transifex.com/

I think we can pull statistics from Transifex using the API, and I'd even be willing to draft some crude code for that if someone can help find a place for it.
However, I don't understand the correlation between translated strings and "traveler" - I would associate the name and artwork more with actually traveling overseas for a Fedora event.
Noting here that there is discussion about migrating away from transifex: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/infrastructure/2014-July/014475.html
I worked at this for a while, but was eventually told by transifex support that even with a premium account, those per-user statistics aren't available via the API.
approving artwork, so gets out of our queue ;)
I'm waiting on webhooks support from Zanata now to implement this.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1122776
I think we will have to come up with new artwork for this one, see https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-badges/ticket/315
No relation between two badges.
@moceap I dont know, if you did read the comments on the linked ticket but there is a problem with using flags and that applies here to, that is what Marie was saying
I just want to say: No need to create new icons instead ready ones.
We could use [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_vehicle_registration_codes international licence plate country code oval stickers] instead of flags, there should be no legal problem with that. Although the badge will be less colorful.
Actually, what we really need to do is not use any sort of symbolism that reflects actual countries. No country codes, no flags, no symbolism that directly ties to any country/nation state/microrepublic/whatever. Sorry. I know this is annoying, but I assure you, it is important.
If you want to make up some fake flag symbols that in no way resemble any countries past/present, that might work. Alternately, you might try replacing the flags with generic stickers, like an airplane, a fragile sticker, some animals one might see while traveling, a boat, etc, etc.
Just curious, how come we can use country codes to identify the locale, but cannot use them on a badge?
Hi there, are you serious about the numbers ?
I would like to meet the person who really translated 10M words ! If some numbers can be seen, it's probably administrator work to move/copy other contributor's work.
I think this is sufficient :
Traveler Baby - You have translated more than 1K words Traveler Young - You have translated more than 10K words Traveler Experimented - You have translated more than 100K words
If you want to make it harder : * make a number of year of contributions, * number of project contribution, * helped globally to translation : gnome/kde/mozilla/libreoffice translator.
Hi, how is the progress of this badge?
@jibecfed Yeah, its good if Translation team decide on stages for badge.
@fredlima We are still waiting for Zanata 4.0 deployment. Its going to happen around November. Process is based on number of translations/commmits on fedMsg auto badge will be awarded to contributors.

Thanks to the Flock badge event (Thank you Maria), here is a new proposal. The problem with flags leads to change the layout, the suitcase make me think of someone attending many events around the world, which doesn't make me feel like translation related.
Here's an updated version I created with @jibecfed I think this looks pretty good :) All we need now is to settle on a number progression for this series. Please update with that info, and an artist can make the badges
