#155 Kernel Tester

Created 4 years ago by jforbes
Modified a year ago

What the badge should be granted for: Completed run of the kernel regression test suite

Badge description: You have regression tested your kernel

Anything else we need to know:
Ideally this would be a leveled badge, maybe 1, 10, 100 or something. I will modify the regression test suite to emit a fedmsg on the completion of a test run.

Cool. Just waiting on that fedmsg hook.

I received your email jforbes, and I would be happy to create some art work for this badge series. Do you, ralph or anyone else working on the project have any concepts that you would like to see? I am little bit lost on what this badge is really all about so I am having a hard time coming up with ideas.

Oooh, I like it!

Hey guys here's my first draft!

I like the idea of making the badges more evil as they go along, and plan to work more on the series this week. I welcome any feedback you guys may have as well

I'm all about it :)

OK - we've got this working and hooked up to the fedmsg bus now:

https://fedora-fedmsg.readthedocs.org/en/latest/topics.html#kerneltest-upload-new

Writing badge rules for these is simple at this point.

Any update on this? I want the badge integration done before we promote the web frontend.

Pushed it out: https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/science-kernel-tester-i

I'll leave the ticket open until we can complete the series.

Can we adjust the badge description to encourage people to run the test suite by linking the instructions?

The instructions will change soon, in the meantime I can link current instructions here: http://jforbes.livejournal.com/14798.html

I finally got around to making more badges for this one. I attempted to make our badger mad scientist crazier as the badge series goes along. Feedback welcome!

I am not getting this badge, but I've uploaded tests results, see:

https://apps.fedoraproject.org/datagrepper/raw?user=churchyard&topic=org.fedoraproject.prod.kerneltest.upload.new

Also note that the following returns nothing, but the topic from this badge rules is used:

https://apps.fedoraproject.org/datagrepper/raw?user=churchyard&topic=kerneltest.upload.new

I don't know if this was always the case with datagrepper or the topic in teh badge rules should be org.fedoraproject.prod.kerneltest.upload.new

the yml looks right to me. org.fedoraproject.prod is usually not included in the yml, take a look at the other badges that actually work :
https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/badges.git/tree/rules/planet-bloggin-it-03.yml
https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/badges.git/tree/rules/package-tagger-01.yml

None of them seem to have the prefix.

+1 to this issue. Even I had uploaded some kerneltests yesterday but did not receive the badge. Take a look at [https://apps.fedoraproject.org/datagrepper/raw?user=skamath&topic=org.fedoraproject.prod.kerneltest.upload.new]

Hi all. I see that the badge has been awarded to all the people above who have submitted kernel tests. Is this still a problem or can the ticket be closed? Thanks!

Closing this issue.

There was a db connection issue and the messages were replayed to reward that badges.
