Fedora Code of Conduct Report System

This is the official, private issue tracker for the Fedora Code of Conduct Committee. Its purpose is to provide a safe and confidential channel for community members to report potential violations of the Fedora Code of Conduct. Reports filed here are only visible to the person who files the report and the members of the Fedora Code of Conduct Committee.

How to File a Report

To file a report, sign in with the Fedora Account System (FAS) and then select the New issue button above. Or use this direct link:

When filing a report, use the issue template when filing your report. Using the template helps the Fedora Code of Conduct Committee provide faster responses that respect confidentiality of all parties.

If you are unable to use this issue tracker, you may send a report via email to codeofconduct [at] fedoraproject [dot] org. This email will be received by the Committee and converted into a confidential ticket in this system.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Your privacy and the confidentiality of the report are our highest priority.

  • All reports are confidential. The contents of your report will only be visible to you and the members of the Fedora Code of Conduct Committee.
  • The Committee members are bound by a strict set of commitments. These commitments enable Committee members to maintain confidentiality, act impartially, and recuse themselves in cases of conflict of interest.
  • During an investigation, we will anonymize details as much as possible when discussing the incident. The identities of all parties will remain confidential unless we are explicitly instructed otherwise by those individuals.

Note: The Fedora Project is a Red Hat sponsored project and not a separate legal entity. Therefore, we may be required to disclose information to Red Hat Legal or other parties at Red Hat to comply with legal requirements.

What to Expect After Reporting

  1. Acknowledgement: The Code of Conduct Committee will acknowledge the receipt of your report.
  2. Review & Investigation: The Committee will review the incident. This process may involve confidential communication with the reporter, the person being reported, and any witnesses to gather a complete understanding of the situation.
  3. Resolution: Once the review is complete, the Committee will determine a fair and appropriate resolution based on the Code of Conduct and its clarifying statements. You will be informed of the outcome.

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated, and every report will receive a response.
