Description: There was a regression where listing "all" instances
failed and returned none. This corrects the instance
path gathering logic

This can't be "isdir", because I think that breaks symlinks as a redirection. Perhaps this should just be "if f.startswith" and then if we try to access f and it fails, we know it can't be real.

Besides that one comment, looks good.
