It looks like in 1.4.2 we use some python 3.7 specific features which causes issues in SLE 15.1/SLE15.2. As we still need to support these, we need it to work on py3.6
Perhaps we need a "minimum python" version we support or similar?
Either way, I'll put in some fixes - it's mainly around some subprocess options it seems.
You know, this is wrong, it looks like it's already fixed in 03bb5ba, so I think the SUSE bz report is incorrect. Sorry for the noise.
