#49794 RFE - Add pam_pwquality checking to DS's password policy
Closed: wontfix 3 years ago Opened 3 years ago by mreynolds.

Issue Description

While Directory Server's existing password policy does do a lot of what pam_pwquality does, there are still many important missing features we should add to DS:

  • Dictionary Checks (cracklib)
  • Similar passwords (difok)
  • Palindrome
  • Character Sequences (monotonic)
  • Bad Words List

Also becoming popular for password checking is adding constraints for the user's telephone number and birthday. However these features would require a type of matching rule to process them correctly as they each can have multiple formats. This should probably be addressed in a different ticket.
